Hi there! My name is Aakash and welcome to my learning journal.

After years of experience as an Accessibility & Usability consultant, I've dived into the exciting world of front-end development. Explore my learning journey to see how far I'm come, what I'm up to now, and what I have planned for the future!

How have I stay commited to my goals?

I’ve stayed committed to learning front-end development by setting clear daily targets that keep me moving forward, even on busy days. Whether it’s mastering a small concept, building a component, or refining a previous project, these consistent goals help me maintain momentum and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

I also stay motivated by drawing inspiration from other developers, seeing what’s possible, and imagining how I can reach that level. Celebrating small wins—sometimes even with a sweet treat—adds a bit of fun to the routine and gives me something to look forward to. This mix of discipline, inspiration, and little rewards has helped me stay focused and enjoy the learning process.

How did I get started?

I got started in front-end development by discovering Scrimba, which made the learning process feel interactive and engaging from the very beginning. The hands-on approach and real-time coding environment helped me quickly understand concepts and apply them in practice, making it easier to build confidence as I progressed.

My background in accessibility also gave me a strong foundation to build on. I already understood the importance of semantic structure, usability, and inclusive design, which meant I wasn’t starting from scratch. Instead, I was able to connect new front-end skills to principles I was already familiar with, making the transition into development feel natural and purposeful.
